Dwight Owens, MD, Chief Psychiatrist for Peachstate Psychiatric Service Is a Board- Certified Psychiatrist, Forensic trained, and Master Certified Independent Medical Examiner. He has been practicing medicine throughout the state of Georgia. He currently holds licenses in Georgia and New York. He has been qualified as an expert witness in several states across the United States.
He has been practicing medicine for more than 30 years. He has experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care. In recent years, he has done greater than 50 competency evaluations, more than 50 IME’s, and has served as an expert more than 25 times, and has extensive experience in medical record reviews. He has participated in cases involving litigation, competency, criminal responsibility, medical malpractice, and compensation and pension.
